Welcome to the eighteenth post in the 2017 blog hop. I’m enjoying myself tremendously, especially reading all the wonderful comments you’re providing. This morning, I’m going to introduce you to another new to you author.
What is your favorite genre of novel? So far I’ve introduced you to contemporary romance, western, suspense, thrillers, sci-fi, paranormal, fantasy and this morning I’m going to add horror to the mix.
R is for Rudra
Who is Rudra? He is one of the primary characters in a new novel by Palvi Sharma, Forest of the Dark.
The Blurb:
While on a road trip, five friends get into an accident only to wake up in a strange forest separated from each other. When they each encounter the creatures that inhabit the forest, they realize they must face their fears in order to find each other and survive the terrors. The only problem is, they are running out of time…
Now, about Rudra:
A true romantic at heart, Rudra was always searching for love. In spite of being outright rejected by his crush in high school, Rudra never gave up on love, and it was in college that he thought he had found his soulmate- Preeti.
As luck would have it, Preeti was in love with someone else, and once again, Rudra was brokenhearted. However, he continued to maintain a cordial relationship with Preeti even after college. It was his career as a photographer that helped him meet an aspiring model, Mahi.
She was tall, beautiful, ambitious, exactly the kind of girl he should want, but Rudra could never forget Preeti. When his friends decide to embark on a road trip, Mahi gets furious, knowing that he would be spending too much time with the girl he once loved. Rudra’s attempt to reassure her was in vain and despite her protests, he goes with his friends.
When they get into an accident and are separated in a mysterious forest, Rudra realizes he can never stop loving Preeti, and he is given a chance to gain her love. But there is something evil in the forest and the creatures that inhabit it cannot be trusted.
Rudra can either escape with the help of his newfound friend, or accept an offer from a djinn and get Preeti’s love. The only problem is that he will have to betray one of his friends to do so. What will Rudra choose?

About the author
Palvi Sharma is an avid reader who discovered her passion for writing at a very young age. Her love for the horror movies and books is what propelled her to write her very own horror books.
In her own words, “I love writing. There isn’t a back story of why I do so or what inspired me- I just fell in love with it! I love to write in a ‘twist in the tale’ way. Whatever happens to my characters has to be something that even I cannot guess. Basically, it’s the unpredictable that draws me into writing a story. If it’s obvious and so is the climax, then I lose interest in it and that’s something I would never present to my readers. My characters are ordinary, but something extraordinary happens to them. That’s the way I always write!”
When she’s not writing, she loves taking long walks, listening to music, and learning new languages.

If only I could read horror without nightmares. I dream that I am having the horrors in the books happen to me.
I primarily enjoy sci-fi, suspense, historical non-fiction, and some paranormal.

I can’t read horror either, but it’s extremely popular. I have graphic scenes in my books, but it isn’t quite the same as horror.
Oh nice! It always makes me happy to see bloggers spotlighting books. Thanks for sharing this one with us. It doesn’t sound like the kind of story I generally read, but I still liked learning about it. 🙂

Great post! Always good to end with a cliffhanger, as the soap operas do, so your readers will want more! And thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂
Hmmm… I’m not sure which genre my favorite books fit under (The Help, Secrets of a Charmed Life, The Time Between, for instance), but horror is not even in the running. *shudder*

When given such a choice by a djinn, i wonder how many of us could refuse.
Thank you for visiting my blog Susanne. I love your tag line, living the dream.
Rudra caught my attention for I like the name. Don’t know if I can read horror…can’t watch it and have never read it before.
S is for Silver Serendipity
I used to like horror books and movies when I was younger. Now if I read or watch I find myself checking my doors and looking for something to use as a weapon in case someone breaks in…lol BTW…I really like that you are showcasing these authors and their books.
